In partnership with Jorge Mencheno, Hong Thach, and Natasha Bell, the Best Foundation hosted groups children and families from "The Hidden Genius Project" and the " City of Emeryville Recreation Department". 200 total guests joined us as we showed appreciation to those who deserve it most; the community.
Jahvid Best and Seth Roberts spoke to 25 young teen leaders at the San Leandro Boys and Girls Club as part of the "Life Goes On Project" with, Arthur Renowitzky.
In partnership with the groups and members of the community, we helped raise $44,000 for a Oakland Family of 8, who had lost their just months prior.
The Best Foundation & the Coogler Family selected a local community hero to throw out the first pitch at the A's ceremonial game. Over 200 families were invited and attended the game.
We had the privilege of partnering with several community members to help 5 young high schools students attend their prom. With the help of many others, we provided the girls with dresses, make up, hair, nails, and transportation to their prom.
Team members hosted a free soccer clinic for 20, 1st-3rd grade students.
The Best Foundation sponsored $1,500 towards the "Aim High Summer Enrichment Program".
For the 2nd year in a row, we volunteered with Lesley West for her 14th annual Prom Dress Giveaway. The best Foundation sponsored the food for guests and volunteers. Team member, Peter Best, was the official emcee for the event. Over 700 girls were able to leave with a prom dress, accessories , and gifts.
Jahvid Best stopped by Murphy Elementary School, in San Pablo, CA, to speak to the entire student body about education, empathy, and determination. The school honored Jahvid and the Best Foundation by officially calling this day, "Best Day".
Throughout 2018, members of the Best Foundation volunteered to read at 8 East Bay schools. We were able to speak and read to over 900 students across 26 classrooms and auditoriums.
So far in 2018, The Best Foundation has donated boxes full school supplies to 6 OUSD classrooms.
In 2018, we have also donated over 500 books to schools, community events, and other organizations.
In partnership with community members and local organizations, we were able to give gifts for the Holidays to over 120 families. Jahvid Best made home and school visits to families in Richmond, Ca and Oakland, Ca, bearing gifts and smiles.
